Low Current Engineer – Datacenter Infrastructure

Technical Skills & Knowledge Requirements:


1- Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and commissioning of fire alarm panels (addressable & conventional).
  • Ability to test, troubleshoot, and program fire alarm systems as per international standards.
  • Familiar with cause-and-effect matrix design and implementation, including system integration with:
  • Control pumps (firefighting & jockey pumps)
  • UPS systems
  • HVAC (air conditioning systems, smoke fans, exhaust fans, purge fans)
  • VRV/VRF cooling units
  • Access control systems
  • Firefighting panels (sprinkler, gas suppression, etc.)
  • Experience in VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) installation and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of heat detectors, smoke detectors, flame detectors – testing and acceptance procedures.
  • Ability to perform full functional testing of fire alarm systems and provide commissioning reports.


2- Low Current / ELV Systems

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning experience in:
  • CCTV systems (IP & analog)
  • Access control systems (card readers, biometric, door controllers)
  • Data outlets / structured cabling systems
  • Public Address (PA) systems (basic knowledge is a plus)
  • Knowledge of system integration between fire alarm, access control, and BMS/DCIM.


3- Datacenter Integration Knowledge

  • Understanding of critical facility requirements for fire alarm and monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of UPS integration, HVAC shutdown, and emergency response automation.
  • Ability to coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams for system interlocks and safety compliance.


4- AutoCAD & Documentation

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing and updating as-built drawings.
  • Capability to read, interpret, and update shop drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Preparation of method statements, test reports, and acceptance documentation.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or Electronics Engineering (or related field).


Experience:

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in low current / ELV systems installation, commissioning, and supervision.
  • Previous exposure to datacenter, hospital, or critical infrastructure projects is preferred.


Personal Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
  • Capable of supervising installation teams and ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Good communication skills for coordination with consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Organized in preparing site reports, testing records, and documentation.
