LTL Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Quoting & Rate Management
• Generate accurate and competitive LTL shipping quotes for customers based on distance, weight, density, class and other factors if mentioned.
• Negotiate rates with LTL carriers to secure cost-effective capacity while maintaining service standards.
• Provide pricing proposals for customers (RFPs, RFQs) as required, collaborating with Sales Team.
• Load Planning & Dispatching
• Coordinate and schedule LTL shipments in alignment with customer pick-up and delivery windows.
• Select the best carrier available based on rate, service, capacity, and reliability.
• Use load boards and carrier database to secure capacity and book freight.
• Order Management & Documentation
• Track and update orders with pick-up, transit, and proof-of-delivery (POD) status.
• Appointment Scheduling
• Coordinate pick-up and drop-off (delivery) appointments with shippers, consignees, and LTL carriers.
• Communicate appointment times, special instructions, and any service requirements, ensuring all parties agree on the schedule.
• Maintain accurate records of appointment details and confirmations in the ITS Dispatch system.
• Customer Communication & Relationship Management
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding quoting, booking, shipment status, and general inquiries.
• Provide proactive updates to customers about any changes, delays, or exceptions.
• Handle customer service issues (e.g., claims, disputes, late delivery) professionally and escalate when needed.
• Issue Resolution & Risk Management
• Identify and resolve operational issues including delays, re-routing, or capacity challenges.
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per shipment, revenue, profit, utilization, appointment compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Recommend and help implement process improvements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
