Lubrication Technician- Job Description

Primary Purpose of The Services

Carry out highly skilled activities related to lubrication of rotary equipment at Qatar Energy Refinery, Chemical plant, Berth 4 & 6, BSV3 and Station C1 and Hamad Intl. Airport (HIA).

Summary of Major Duties and Responsibilities

To carry out lubrication tasks (preventive as well as corrective) of rotary equipment of refinery/ operating areas under refinery.

Receives verbal instructions from Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, obtains material & tools and spare parts from stores as reserved by authorized engineer and performs the relevant tasks.

To perform the relevant lubrication function including checking / filling lube oil/ grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crank cases etc. Replacement and cleaning of lube oil systems, filters, lube oil sight glasses, hydraulic oil filters, maintain auto greasing and drip-feeding systems etc.

Reporting of all the daily lubrication tasks carried out.

Monitoring of any lubrication related abnormality and inform the supervisor.

Proper handling and storage of lubricants.

Raising corrective works orders/ sub-workers for rectification of lubrication related problems in liaison with supervisor and maintenance planning.

Recommend/ request asset integrity team to perform oil analysis, if required.

Monitoring and analysis heavy lubricant for instance grease.

Education:

Qualified with a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years employed as a rotating equipment lubrication technician.

(Additional 02 years prior experience as rotary technician will be more preferable) Additional preferences,

(I) Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Rotary equipment. Ability to work in a multinational environment

(II) Familiarity with lubrication best practices and related lubrication software would be beneficial.

(III) Successful completion of machinery lubrication courses
