A well-respected Regional Property Management firm that has been in business for over 35 years and has expanding fee management portfolio on the East Coast is looking for a resourceful, community-minded team member.

We seek to fill this Maintenance Technician in the greater metropolitan area. The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the community. This involves ensuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for our residents, visitors and staff. The Maintenance Technician will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and perform other duties as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor, Site Manager or Maintenance Department.

Diagnoses and performs minor and routine maintenance/repair as directed involving some of the following on a daily basis:

  • Electrical - examines and repairs electric circuits and components
  • Plumbing - repairs and replaces piping systems and fixtures, leaks and opening clogged drains.
  • A/C and heating systems.
  • Appliance - examine, diagnose and repair all components of all major appliances.
  • Walls - repair damaged plaster/drywall surfaces of walls and ceilings to match existing surfaces.
  • Stairs, gates, fences and railings.
  • Tile, carpet, VCT and plank flooring.
  • Roofing, gutters and fasteners.
  • Interior/exterior lights and fixtures
  • Gas appliances and fixtures (where applicable).
  • Doors, cabinets and window.
  • Hot water tanks, gas and electric.
  • Building and unit door locks and mailboxes.
  • Security systems (where applicable).
  • Unit Turnovers (where applicable).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years multi-family maintenance experience required.
  • Technical training in one or more trades preferred.]
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Possess an advanced understanding of principles and procedures of building maintenance.
  • Position requires personal contact with residents.
  • Proper and professional conduct is essential at all times.
  • Must maintain a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.
  • Capable of performing sustained manual and the ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires overtime, holiday and weekend work, ownership of hand tools and taking emergency on-call.
