Maintenance & Bottling Line Technician
Applied Chemistries Inc. is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Maintenance & Bottling Line Technician to support our growing chemical manufacturing and packaging operation in Agawam. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, setting up, and improving automated and semi-automated bottling, labeling, capping, mixing, and packaging equipment, along with general facility and utility systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on bottling, capping, labeling, filling, conveying, and packaging equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot air compressors, mixing tanks, pumps, mixers, agitators, and other production utility systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues throughout the facility
- Set up and adjust bottling lines for different container sizes and production runs
- Troubleshoot production downtime issues and quickly restore operation
- Replace motors, bearings, seals, hoses, valves, sensors, belts, and other wear components
- Assist with installation, plumbing, and setup of new production and processing equipment
- Support facility maintenance including piping, compressed air systems, drum handling equipment, and material transfer systems
- Maintain maintenance records, PM schedules, and spare parts inventory
- Work closely with production staff to improve line efficiency, reliability, and uptime
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Preferred Experience
- Industrial maintenance, bottling, packaging, chemical manufacturing, food processing, or related manufacturing experience
- Experience working with:
- Air compressors
- Pumps and piping systems
- Mixing tanks and agitators
- Pneumatics
- Conveyors
- Fillers and cappers
- Labeling systems
- Electric motors and gearboxes
- Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting and control systems
- Welding, fabrication, plumbing, or machining experience is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently and prioritize urgent repairs
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training preferred
