Job Purpose
The Coordinator Maintenance is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the daily activities of a maintenance shift, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness in operations. This role involves monitoring performance metrics, implementing best practices, and providing guidance to maintenance personnel to ensure that all maintenance objectives are met in a timely manner. The Coordinator Maintenance will also facilitate communication between team members and other departments, fostering a collaborative work environment that prioritizes safety, quality, and adherence to regulatory standards. Additionally, the Coordinator Maintenance will assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance plant reliability and performance.

14. Oversee operational processes and routinely review data related to materials, events, or environmental conditions to identify signs of potential operational issues.
15. Categorize, assess, and recognize variations or similarities in data, enabling timely detection of changes in circumstances or events.
16. Inspect and supervise the examination of equipment, structures, or materials to identify root causes of errors, issues, and defects, ensuring timely corrective actions.
17. Operate and oversee chemical processes or systems of machines utilizing control panels, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment, ensuring precise control.
18. Maintain and operationalize auxiliary equipment—including pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, and chlorinators—to ensure the provision of necessary utilities such as water, fuel, and lubricants.
19. Control and monitor power-generating equipment—including boilers, turbines, generators, or reactors—using control boards or semi-automatic equipment, maintaining operational integrity.
20. Advise on and dynamically adjust control settings to start, stop, or modify machinery and equipment impacting the speed of chemical reactions, product quality, or yield.
21. Play a pivotal role in the safe start-up and shut-down of plant equipment, meticulously following established safety processes and procedures.
22. Oversee the transportation and storage of flammable and hazardous materials, ensuring strict adherence to established safety guidelines.
23. Manage the comprehensive monitoring of recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, gauges, and dials, responding promptly to warning signals to ensure process compliance.
24. Monitor the functionality of equipment, conduct regular checks on temperature, level, and flow gauges, and proactively identify malfunctions to ensure safe and efficient operation.
25. Oversee the operation of compressors, scrubbers, evaporators, and refrigeration equipment tasked with liquefying, compressing, or degasifying natural gas, ensuring efficiency and safety.
26. Review and accurately interpret operational records, test results, and gauge readings—monitoring parameters such as temperatures, pressures, concentrations, and flows.
27. Implement and enforce safety protocols to regulate or shut down equipment during emergencies, ensuring the protection of personnel and assets.
28. Lead detailed inspections of operating units, including towers, soap-spray storage tanks, scrubbers, collectors, and dryers, ensuring they function optimally while maintaining maximum efficiency.
29. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Risk, and Quality (HSERQ) requirements to promote a safe working environment.
30. Execute senior standby duties as required, maintaining readiness to respond to operational needs.
31. Actively participate as a key team member in cross-functional projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration and contributing to organizational success.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred; a technical diploma may be considered if accompanied by relevant additional experience.
2. A formal qualification in Production or Process Management is highly preferred (e.g., National Diploma, BTech, MTech).
3. Trade test, formal production qualification, or diploma in Engineering is required.
Minimum Experience:
1. 5-7 years of relevant experience in the mining industry and production.
2. 5-7 years of experience in maintenance coordination or management, with a strong focus on processing systems.

1. Skilled in understanding raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques essential for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
2. Proficient in the operation, design, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, and equipment, including first-line maintenance.
3. In-depth knowledge of relevant policies, rules, processes, and procedures governing the industry.
4. Competent as a super user of applicable industrial control software, demonstrating expert-level proficiency.
5. Thoroughly trained in Maaden’s safety codes, regulations, rules, and procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
6. Maintains up-to-date compliance training in industry standards and regulations.
7. Strong understanding of the chemical composition, structure, properties of substances, and the chemical processes and transformations they undergo, including uses, interactions, hazards, production techniques, and disposal methods.
8. Significant experience in managing plant shutdowns and start-ups effectively.
