Description


Glenwood Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Director to lead our maintenance department in ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. The Maintenance Director plays a critical role in maintaining facility operations and supporting our mission of providing quality long-term care.

Maintenance Director Key Responsibilities


  • Plan, organize, and oversee all daily operations of the maintenance department.
  • Establish and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Maintain written policies and procedures for maintenance services, updating annually.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Nursing, Dietary, and Housekeeping departments.
  • Inspect storage areas, utility rooms, and workspaces for cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
  • Participate in state and federal inspections; prepare corrective action plans for deficiencies.
  • Supervise and evaluate outside contractors, ensuring all work meets facility standards.
  • Manage equipment, supply inventory, and administrative reporting.


Maintenance Director Qualifications


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience as a Maintenance Director or in a supervisory maintenance role (healthcare or long-term care preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems, safety protocols, and facility maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, painting, general maintenance duties, service heating and cooling units/ systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and adapt to changing facility needs.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to high-quality standards.
