Maintenance Electrician

JOB SUMMARY

Essential Repairs is a growing, projects-based maintenance business delivering high-quality work across a range of residential and commercial clients across London. We pride ourselves on strong organisation, clear communication, and delivering projects on time and to a high standard.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrician (Multi-Skilled) to own electrical fault-finding and maintenance across multiple sites, with the ability to carry out general maintenance tasks alongside their core electrical work. This is a hands-on, field-based role for a qualified electrician who works independently, takes ownership of jobs, and delivers to a consistently high standard.

This is not a handyman role - we are looking for a qualified electrician first, with additional practical skills.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Electrical Fault-Finding: Diagnose and resolve faults across domestic and light commercial properties quickly and accurately

• Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out electrical maintenance, minor installations, and upgrades to a high standard

• Testing & Inspection: Test and certify electrical installations including EICRs where qualified

• General repairs: Carry out basic repairs and diagnostics alongside electrical works

• Multi-Site Working: Manage multiple jobs and sites per day efficiently and independently

• Making Good: Complete jobs end-to-end including making good on completion

• Compliance: Operate in accordance with RAMS, safe systems of work, and all health & safety requirements

• Documentation: Complete accurate job records and reports on the day of works

• Client Communication: Represent the business professionally on site - clear, confident, and client-focused

What We're Looking For:

• Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) - this is not a handyman role

• 18th Edition (BS 7671) – current

• Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent)

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across domestic and light commercial properties

• Experience in maintenance and reactive works, not just installations

• Ability to carry out basic plumbing repairs alongside electrical work

• Self-sufficient in the field - able to manage a full day's work without supervision

• Reliable, punctual, and consistent

• Professional and well-presented on site

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment

• Takes ownership and does not wait to be told what to do

• Full clean UK driving licence

What We Offer:

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)

Benefits: Overtime / performance incentives, company van & fuel card

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Overtime and weekend work available.

Annual Leave: 28 days including bank holidays

Place of Work: London (multi-site, field-based)
