Job Summary
The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices. The ideal candidate will work independently and as part of a team, ensuring all electrical work meets regulatory standards and client specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment, systems, and facilities
- Conduct routine inspections and testing to identify electrical issues and prevent breakdowns
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, and implement corrective actions
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, engineers, and technicians to ensure safe and efficient work practices
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in other challenging environments as required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including test results and inspection reports
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with industry developments and best practices
Qualifications & Experience
Certification:
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulation certification is highly advantageous
- Relevant electrical qualification
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical installation and maintenance
- Hands-on experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical systems
- Must have experience with maintenance tasks, including fault finding, repair, and servicing of electrical systems and equipment
- Be competent in testing and inspection of electrical installations, including knowledge of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and PAT Testing
Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of electrical theory and practices, including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- Possess a solid knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant safety standards, which would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Should possess experience in identifying electrical faults and promptly applying effective and safe solutions.
- Have an ability to communicate effectively with our customers, colleagues, including explaining technical issues
Technology:
- Be comfortable with smartphones/tablets for accessing work schedules and communication tools.
- Have familiarity with power tools and machinery and their safety features
