Maintenance Engineer – Scaffolding Manufacturing

Job Purpose

To ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment and facilities used in scaffolding production by planning and executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment & Machinery Maintenance

• Maintain and repair scaffolding manufacturing equipment such as:
• Roll forming machines
• Pipe cutting and threading machines
• Welding machines (MIG/ARC/Robot welding)
• Hydraulic presses and punching machines
• Galvanizing plant equipment (where applicable)
• CNC machines and material handling systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Minimize machine downtime through effective troubleshooting.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown records, and spare parts usage.
• Monitor machine condition to predict failures and plan interventions.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and legal regulations.
• Support machine safety audits, risk assessments, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Ensure equipment meets industry standards relevant to scaffolding production.

Spares & Inventory Management

• Identify critical spare parts and ensure availability.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely sourcing of spares.
• Control maintenance costs without compromising safety or quality.

Continuous Improvement

• Suggest equipment upgrades or process improvements.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of new machines.

Team Coordination

• Guide and supervise technicians and contractors.
• Train operators on basic equipment care and safety practices.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
• Experience:
• 3–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in steel fabrication, scaffolding, or heavy engineering industries preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, shafts)
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Industrial electrical systems (motors, VFDs, control panels)
• Welding machine and fabrication equipment knowledge
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
• Basic PLC troubleshooting (preferred)
• Familiarity with EHS and machine safety standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
