Maintenance & Equipment Technician (Part-Time)

About Us:
We’re Dave’s Coffee - a small-batch coffee roaster with cafés in Providence and Charlestown. We roast all our coffee right here in Narragansett, Rhode Island and take pride in doing things the right way. Our roastery is where the magic happens, and we’re looking for someone who can help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

About the Role:
We’re hiring a Maintenance & Equipment Technician to help maintain and repair equipment at our roastery and cafés. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who enjoys fixing, troubleshooting, and maintaining machines.

This job could be a great fit if you’ve ever worked as an automotive mechanic, machine mechanic, facilities maintenance technician, repair tech, or general handyman.

This is a part-time position with very flexible hours - we’re happy to work around your schedule. Whether you prefer early mornings, mid-days, or a few hours spread across the week, we can accommodate it. Ideally, this role will be under 20 hours per week.

You’ll be our go-to person for equipment maintenance and repair, keeping things in top working condition and helping prevent downtime.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform preventative maintenance on roasting, brewing, grinding, and packaging equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Handle general building maintenance, including light plumbing, electrical work, and minor repairs
• Maintain tools, parts, and maintenance supplies
• Visit both café locations (Providence & Charlestown) to handle minor equipment repairs and maintenance
• Work closely with our roasting and café teams to identify potential issues early

Who We’re Looking For:

• Hands-on and mechanically inclined - you enjoy fixing things and solving problems
• Experience as a mechanic, machine technician, repair tech, maintenance worker, or handyman
• Comfortable with basic plumbing and electrical repairs
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly with the team
• Someone who enjoys flexible, part-time work that’s active, practical, and keeps you thinking

Bonus Points If You:

• Have experience maintaining or repairing food-service equipment or coffee machinery
• Are recently retired or semi-retired and looking for part-time work that’s rewarding and hands-on
• Have a background in industrial maintenance or facilities management

Hours & Pay:

• Flexible part-time schedule — we can accommodate many different availability needs
• Under 20 hours per week
• Competitive hourly pay, based on experience
• Local travel to our Providence and Charlestown cafés as needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.35 - $28.12 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
