Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards; utilize electrical experience and tools such as ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Service plumbing systems by repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining plumbing fixtures to ensure optimal operation.
- Carry out building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and facilities upkeep to enhance the environment’s appearance.
- Repair HVAC systems including filters, thermostats, ductwork, and other components to maintain climate control comfort.
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics to diagnose complex electrical or mechanical issues accurately.
- Support facilities maintenance operations by managing maintenance painting projects and handling maintenance repair requests promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to lead small maintenance projects or assist in larger repair initiatives while providing excellent customer service to internal clients.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), with a strong foundation in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC system repair, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and the use of hand tools as well as specialized equipment like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of building interior maintenance practices including painting (residential or commercial), drywall repair, and general facilities upkeep.
- Ability to read technical schematics related to electrical systems and HVAC units; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to perform welding tasks safely when needed.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork; leadership qualities are desirable for guiding junior staff or leading small projects.
- Prior experience working within residential or commercial facilities maintenance environments is preferred.
