Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer
- Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Ensure machines operate efficiently with minimal downtime.
- Fault Diagnosis & Repair
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Identify root causes of failures and implement long-term solutions.
- Preventive Maintenance Planning
- Develop and follow scheduled maintenance plans.
- Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote safe working practices and conduct risk assessments.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Manage spare parts availability and coordinate with procurement.
- Optimize inventory to reduce costs and avoid shortages.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements.
- Support reliability and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare maintenance reports, checklists, and technical documentation.
- Analyze downtime data and maintenance KPIs.
- Team & Vendor Coordination
- Supervise technicians and contractors.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and service providers.
- Installation & Commissioning
- Assist in installing new equipment and commissioning systems.
- Ensure proper handover and training for operators.
