MAINTENANCE MECHANIC-2nd shift

Position Summary

We are currently seeking an individual with a background and some experience working in plant and/or industrial maintenance for our 3rd shift. The successful candidate will be able to repair and maintain industrial equipment, plant facilities and grounds, and Company vehicles as well as perform general maintenance tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities

· Perform maintenance, repair and trouble shoot, including controls, systems involving electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing components.

· Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.

· Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.

· Remove and replace defective parts.

· Align and adjust machinery and components as necessary.

· Set up and operate metalworking and machine tools such as lathe, drill press, grinder, welding and brazing equipment.

· Perform preventative maintenance and adjustments to all production, finishing machinery, material handling and physical plant equipment.

· Perform basic automobile and fork truck maintenance.

· Work to manufacturer’s specifications, layouts and blueprints.

· Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork regarding work in progress or completed.

· Implement and maintain preventative maintenance plans.

· As necessary prepare and maintain records pertaining to equipment, spare parts and tools.

· Assist in maintaining the physical plant proper including building maintenance, housekeeping, painting, cleaning drains, snow removal etc.

· Make recommendations to improve designs and procedures in order to reduce malfunctions and downtime.

· Keep work areas clean and orderly.

· Must be available for overtime including weekends if necessary.

· Participate in emergency activities necessary to preserve the assets of the Company.

· Must be familiar with and work in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

· Must provide own tools and maintain them properly.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
