Primary Responsibility:
Performs general maintenance and repair of mobile equipment and material processing plant. Work safely with other crew and lead members to improve crushing, conveying, screening, milling equipment, and mobile equipment issues.
Essential Functions:
- Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
- Maintain primary crusher assembly and other integrated equipment.
- Perform Mobile equipment preventative maintenance services.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
- Follow all company, state, and federal regulations.
- Use welding, cutting equipment and hand tools.
- Service bearings and drive process installation.
- Assist in keeping accurate preventive maintenance records.
- Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.
- Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
Qualifications/Additional Skills: Mechanic 2
- Must possess basic mechanical skills
- Experience in welding and cutting
- Must possess a valid driver license
- Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
- Must demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of the following: Conveyor belts, bearings, gearboxes, electrical 12-24 volt systems Diesel engine preventative maintenance, basic mechanical integrity.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as interpret pencil sketches and diagrams.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Must supply own common hand tools from ¼ in drive to ½ drive wrench sets from ¼ to 1 ¼ standard. Metric equivalent
- Demonstrate Oxygen Acetylene set up to cut ½ plate
- Constant Current Welder set up running 7018, 1/8 weld rod Demonstrate the ability to tack together two ¼” carbon steel plates
- Demonstrate proper blocking and cribbing techniques and safe placement of jacks
- Demonstrate proper O- ring, lip, and adjustable seal installation
- Identify and comprehend basic hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and symbols
- Demonstrate competent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Demonstrate both a flat and vertical weld on ½ steel plate
- Demonstrate arc gouging with the appropriate amp setting
- Competency in following PM procedures and documentation
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is frequently required to sit; hear and talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle and feel objects; type and manipulate controls. Employee is required to use distance vision, stand, kneel, or crouch and lift to 50 lbs.; climb up to 100 feet and work in elevated areas, and pull up to 20 lbs.
