Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Lake Villa, IL
Salary: $33-$47 hourly rate
2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our client's organization in the Lake Villa, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial production and packaging equipment to support safe and efficient operations.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

Support basic controls and automation troubleshooting, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and motor controls.

Assist with refrigeration, utilities, or other plant systems as assigned, following established safety and operating procedures.

Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Complete maintenance work orders, inspections, and documentation accurately using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Collaborate with production, quality, and sanitation teams to support uptime, food safety, and operational goals.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with spare parts identification and equipment reliability efforts.
Key Qualifications:
-
Experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic or technician in a manufacturing, processing, or packaging environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience repairing industrial equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, and rotating machinery.

Working knowledge of electrical systems, including motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and basic industrial troubleshooting.

Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and ability to assist with controls troubleshooting under guidance.

Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including reading schematics and replacing components.

Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and technical drawings and follow maintenance procedures.

Working knowledge of safety practices and regulatory standards such as LOTO, OSHA, GMPs, and related requirements.

Comfortable using a CMMS to document work, parts usage, and follow-up actions.

Willingness to work off-shifts, weekends, or on-call rotations as needed in a production environment.
