Maintenance Mechanic

Come join our family. GLE Alloys has an immediate opening for a full-time mechanic. Applicants should be mechanically inclined and have a knowledge of engine repairs, heavy equipment, and Hydraulics.
Responsibilities:

5+ years of experience in Mechanics.

· Performs maintenance services, installation or repairs in one or more skill areas such as plumbing, mechanical, electrical repairs, pneumatic, hydraulic, installation, carpentry, painting or vehicle servicing

· Inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant

· Repairs and maintains all types of pumps and others kinds of mechanical equipment or machinery

· Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment

· Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment

· Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed

· Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repair defective parts using hand/power tools and precision measuring and testing devices

· Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored.

· Performs facility maintenance and repair, may replace or install lightbulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, ceiling/floor tiles, door locks, carpet and/or paint

· May perform manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required

· Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes

· Repairs sewage, sludge and water pumps

· Welds metal pieces to repair metal objects with welding equipment

· Grease mechanical equipment and plant machinery (PMaintenance)

· Operates equipment – crane, backhoe, front end loaders, forklift

· Must follow operational, mechanical, safety and emergency response procedures

· May suggest process improvements

· Keeps supervisor informed of problems

· Spends 100% of time in operations environment

· Typically can spend 25-35% of time exposed to outdoor/inclement weather

· Possible work hazards: May be exposed to fumes, dust, chemicals, noise, machinery, high pressure, hot/cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in Mechanics
• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
• Strong mechanical skills
• Flexible schedule with ability to work nights and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Stand, bend, stoop, crawl, for periods of time
• Works in the hot summer elements outside
• Must pass full background check / drug test / physical
