Maintenance Mechanic

Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

Buildings and Grounds / 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Potential for October to March 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Salary:

$25.47/hr per SRP Contract

Duties:

• Performs skilled work in one or more of the building or service trades
• Plans work; estimates material and supplies required.
• Reads blueprints, interprets diagrams, charts and specifications
• Requests supplies and equipment
• Operates power equipment hand tools and testing equipment
• Maintains equipment and shop
• Repairs trucks, tractors, lawn mowers and other equipment
• Repairs and refinishes desks, tables, chairs and other furniture
• Cleans and paints walls, woodwork and floors.
• Inspects, installs and replaces valves, gauges, pumps, and other accessories and fittings
• Repairs/replaces worn pipe flanges and gaskets
• Performs basic electrical testing and service work
• Replaces light bulbs, fuses, fixtures and makes minor electrical installations
• Replaces window glass, cords and repairs frames
• Completes landscaping and snow removal.
• Maintains athletic fields and paving
• Performs substantial amounts of grass cutting and weed trimming during the spring and summer
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs on low voltage and high voltage equipment, disconnects, starters, time-delay relays, pumps, motors and associated electrical components

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience in the building or service trades;
• OR seven (7) years of experience in the building or service trades;
• OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the above.
• Possession of a valid Class D NYS driver's license

Qualifications Desired:

• Strong computer skills
