JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The purpose of this job is to perform a very wide variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to mechanical and electrical maintenance work such as; installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis, troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, facilities, and services requiring the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
  • Operates a wide variety of equipment such as; various saws, benders, breaks, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, meters, feelers, voltmeters, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc.
  • Provides cross training for other skills.
  • May be a member of a work group (team) that utilizes some business skills such as: writing and entering work orders, time distribution, quotes and estimates, use of computer in performance of duties, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works independently, coordinates PMs, rebuilds, shutdowns and other employees as required.
  • Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems.
  • Trains others in maintenance techniques designed for sensitive processes.
  • Works as a member of a team.
  • Writes process documentation.
  • Prepares maintenance projects and layouts.
  • Interfaces with customers, vendors and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, practices, etc.

The starting pay for this position is $37.02 USD hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
