(Mechanical Project Planner)
PURPOSE OF WORK
To provide execution planning, supervision or coordination services for shutdowns, turnarounds, major expense, Management of Change, Special Emphasis Program & capital projects, procurement of large engineered equipment and projects designed by the Technical Department. To coordinate shared services within the Maintenance organization. To lead special audits and special programs within the Maintenance Department. To coordinate the implementation, analysis, improvements and follow-up of Samref’s computerized maintenance management system.
REGULAR ASSIGNED DUTIES
Provide coaching to the new Planner/Technicians assigned to the Manager’s organization; including but not limited to SAP work management and the coordination for the SAP work centers under the PPC Manager.

Implement Samref’s safety rules and regulations as they apply during the development of planned work packages in accordance to OIMS & T1BPs. Schedule weekly safety reviews for the assigned employees and contract staff workers towards quality and to carry out safe work executions.

Participates in investigations of incidents/accidents to identify root causes and to establish written policies, practices or recommendations by which similar incidents/accidents may be prevented.

Develop, complete clear and concise work packages.

Utilize advance planning tools such as critical path scheduling and man-power balancing. (e.g., Primavera)

Write project contract scope documents to ensure highest level of safety & reliability is achieved during execution of tasks.

Prepare Maintenance job packs in accordance to OIMS, T1BPs to execute in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Optimize the use of SAP functions of data accuracy, estimating, work close out and cost reporting.

Monitor the Maintenance Department's usage of SAP PM.

Identify weaknesses in training, reporting, analysis, controls and usability. Identify and coach personnel, groups or positions that require additional help in maximizing the SAP benefits.

Ensure policies are effective in keeping the master equipment data accurate.

Assure equipment histories are being entered.

Coordinate SAP updates and revisions.

Complete regular group coaching sessions in the Maintenance Department for all COORDINATORS, SENIOR TECHNICIANS and clerks to assure excellent communication, consistent expectations and uniform results in all groups.

Plan, execute and monitor all Major Expense Items (MEI), Tank Cleaning and Repair Program, Unit shutdown, Special Emphasis Program (SEP) and MOC safely and as per the budget and schedule.

Coordinate the procurement of large, engineered replacement of maintenance components such as heat exchangers, vessels and protective coatings.

Participate in Maintenance audit such as OIMS Assessment, OIMS Critical Verification Measurement (OCVM) and Quick Reference List (QRL).

Supervise temporary taskforces as required for individual projects or turnarounds as required by management.

Complete special assignments as directed by the Maintenance Managers.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in related fields.
