8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday; will be required to work during emergencies. Standby after regular business hours will be required on a rotating basis.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office background check prior to appointment.

Supervisory work planning and directing the work of skilled craft workers and semiskilled workers in building, equipment, and facilities maintenance. Plans, assigns, inspects, and supervises the work of employees involved in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, electronics, air conditioning and refrigeration, welding, signage, and/or electronic door installation, as well as maintenance and repair activities. Participates in more challenging maintenance tasks and utilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Employee must be competent in all aspects of the purchasing process. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or lead worker experience in the building and mechanical trades.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Supervising multi-trade crews on large commercial buildings; submitting requisitions for materials/preparing reports; using a CMMS/MS Excel/Word/Outlook (must specify on application). Also desirable: County or State Electrical Journeyman/Master License in any building or mechanical trade.
