Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s Engineering and Maintenance Department. This position requires strong hotel systems knowledge, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to lead and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in preventative maintenance, emergency response, and maintaining brand standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Operations & Systems Knowledge
- Demonstrate working knowledge of hotel mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior grounds meet brand and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests to minimize service disruption.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Support property inspections, brand audits, and safety inspections.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate daily assignments of maintenance technicians.
- Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and technical support to the engineering team.
- Assist with scheduling to ensure proper coverage for shifts, weekends, and on-call emergencies.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and guest service.
- Participate in training and development of maintenance staff.
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance
- Oversee and ensure completion of preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms and equipment.
- Monitor work order systems and ensure timely follow-up and completion.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems as needed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
Administrative & Reporting
- Support the Chief Engineer in tracking departmental expenses and maintaining cost control.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Assist in vendor coordination and project oversight when required.
- Step in to lead the department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces as required.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
