Job Summary
The maintenance supervisor oversees the maintenance, repair, and overall performance of facility equipment and systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all manufacturing equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include managing facility preventive maintenance programs, coordinating work schedules, diagnosing and resolving facility-related issues, and leading a high-performing maintenance team.
Role and Responsibilities

Supervises maintenance technicians to ensure efficient coverage of operations support 24/7.

Implements and supervises the facility preventive maintenance (P.M.) program. Schedules break-in of work for optimum utilization of manpower and equipment.

Assists with the coordination of all facilities projects so completion complies with standards, goals, and budgets. Prioritize non-routine work orders based on need, risk cost, and efficiency.

Engages and oversees contractors and outside technical expertise as required.

Supervise the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all building systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, hydraulic, steam, compressed air, and structural components.

Establishes and maintains physical and electronic technical library.

Assists with internal and external food safety and other audits and inspections then maintaining appropriate records.

Respond to facility-related emergencies and coordinate corrective actions in a timely and efficient manner. Participate in emergency planning and preparedness activities related to facility infrastructure. Weekend work may be required.

Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory (WISHA, OSHA, PSM, RMP, HAZMAT, USDA, FDA, and EPA) requirements.

Ensure maintenance personnel stay current with all required training.

Manage department vacation schedules to ensure adequate staffing.

Review and approve timecards for the department.

Ensure overtime hours are minimized.

Ensure trouble calls are resolved in a timely manner.

Evaluate the maintenance training needs and assist in the training.

Provides direction in the prioritization of planned work.

Interface with multiple departments within the plant, as well as WH, Engineering, Process Safety, Product Development, Reliability and network teams.

Ensure operational standards are executed with excellence.

Qualifications and Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent required, with an associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field being preferred.
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance and supervisory experience, food industry, or industrial utilities preferred.

Success in leading a team in some capacity and experience in continuous improvement activities is desired but not required.

Computer skills – working knowledge of SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Technical Experience

Working knowledge in design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of electrical power distribution and control, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Formal training in a mechanical-related trade or equivalent experience, preferred.

Experience with OSHA and Food Safety regulations is preferred.
