Maintenance Supervisor

Basic Purpose:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring installation, repair, and maintenance of the facility equipment and machinery in order to maintain required production levels while assisting in the supervision of the hourly Maintenance department.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for the safety of department’s employees to include stringent enforcement of safety policies and procedures, ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times, communication of monthly safety topics, prompt completion of all accident or near miss reports, and ensure that all LOTO procedures are followed at all times.
  • Directs the work of other Mechanics and Technicians or other maintenance personnel as necessary. Trains Technicians and Mechanics on specific tasks such as electrical and mechanical skills for the equipment.
  • Oversees programs for department safety, quality, and environmental concerns.
  • Maintains security of the facility including the security system and locking the facility and gates.
  • Maintains required paperwork, procedures, manuals, logs, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Performs pre-shift and monthly safety meetings with maintenance associates.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous leadership experience or equivalent education required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, assign to personnel across multiple shifts and monitor for timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks through others.
  • 15+ years prior maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of current OSHA, NEC, and ANSI standards
  • Working knowledge of variable frequency drives
  • Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
  • Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to perform maintenance functions above ground level from l' to 50'
  • Must be able to use hands, fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, memos and reports. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently list and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, it may be loud occasionally. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:
