Maintenance Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides supervision to departmental staff:
    • Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance and supervision.
    • Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to successfully complete their assigned job responsibilities.
    • Ensures that employees are aware of, and adhere to, appropriate company policies and procedures.
    • Provides input into the maintenance and upkeep of departmental job descriptions.
    • Reviews employee assignments and provides specific instructions on completion of tasks/responsibilities.
    • Develops employees by being a coach and champion, providing support, guidance, and opportunities for growth and advancement.
    • Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for immediate staff.
    • Participates in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures.

  • Conduct routine facility maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical system malfunctions.
    • Perform necessary repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and restore functionality to facilities and equipment.

  • Assess workplace conditions and equipment usage to enhance project efficiency.
    • Execute preventive maintenance procedures to extend equipment lifespan.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Properly utilize, maintain, and store tools, equipment, and supplies.

Primary Attributes

Professional & Technical Knowledge:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Possesses specific knowledge of maintenance processes and practices, typically learned “on the job,” or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively. Must know all aspects of the trade as it is performed in the organization, sufficient to effectively train or instruct others, and to serve as a resource to employees.

Continuing Education:

  • Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices, typically acquired through continuing education.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • A valid state-issued driver’s license is required. Must possess and maintain, or obtain within twelve (12) months of hire, at least one job-related trade credential approved by the Company, such as a West Virginia HVAC Technician Certification, West Virginia Contractor License with an applicable classification, electrical license, plumbing license, or other comparable maintenance-related license or certification.

Technical Skills:

  • Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word. Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information. Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the Company.

General Development:

  • Displays more advanced organizational skills, in order to organize projects or the work of others. Devises effective solutions to situations encountered based on the general goals and objectives of the function. Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic. Exercises tact and diplomacy in the resolution of mild conflicts or disagreements.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a public, customer-facing, high traffic environment. At times, work may involve working with disruptive or distressed individuals.
