Maintenance Technician

CARDINAL ETHANOL in Union City, Indiana, has a great opportunity for an experienced Day Shift Maintenance Technician. This position will primarily work the hours of 9am to 6pm, Monday -- Friday.

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving mechanical and electronic problems and performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the ethanol facility and equipment. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues timely using best practices. This position reports to the maintenance supervisor.

Education

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 -2 years of vocational training or equivalent experience in maintenance mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, electronics, and programmable computers.

Knowledge and Skills

• Prior ethanol plant or similar is helpful.
• Maintenance with production equipment, including mechanical and electrical repair experience.
• Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Reading blueprints, schematics, and logic controllers.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills required.
• Experience using MS Office programs required.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function.

Experience using -

• Arc welding and cutting with acetylene torch.
• Air and hydraulic systems knowledge to perform troubleshooting, installation, and plumbing for basic and complex systems competently.
• Voltmeter and changing fuses up to 480v.
• Manual/power hand and shop tools, shear, brake, ironworker, drill press, hydraulic press, power hacksaw, etc.

Work Environment:

The plant is a 24/7 operation. Requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and working in tight positions and confined areas occasionally and for prolonged periods. Work is routinely performed indoors and outdoors in all weather, with frequent exposure to noise, dirt, and a dusty environment.
