Maintenance Technician

The Holiday Inn Express — Woodstock, VA is currently seeking an friendly, passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-time or Full-time Maintenance Technician. Part-time would be ideal for retired or semi-retired person.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the general / basic building maintenance and upkeep of exterior and interior of the property - Responsible for assisting with Preventative Maintenance Program.

- Ensure a timely response to requests for service / maintenance issues by guests and staff to include minor repair or replacement of interior fixtures & furnishings.

- Responding to and ensuring follow-up on maintenance requests and service orders.

- Maintain pool during pool season.

- Follow and implement safety procedures and policies.

- Routine safety inspection of equipment and devices.

- Basic knowledge of hotel layout, amenities offered and all procedures and organization.

- Group baggage handling when necessary.

- Assist housekeeping department when necessary.

- Other duties as needed.

General Requirements / Experience:

- Mechanical / Technical minded attitude. Willing to learn and work.

- Knowledge of using manual and powered tools such as drill, saw, blower, etc......

- BASIC knowledge / experience in general building maintenance (Hotel experience a plus).

- Basic Drywall and painting knowledge / experience: patchwork, paint, fix damaged ceiling, etc...

- Basic Plumbing knowledge / experience: Replace fixture such as faucets, shower, toilet, fix leaks, etc.....

- Basic Electrical knowledge / experience: Replace fixture outlet, lighting, etc....

- Basic HVAC knowledge / experience: Change filters, motor, diagnose basic issue

- High school diploma or GED preferred.

- Technical or trade school a plus but not required.

Schedule:

- Full-time or Part-time - Must be available to work weekends from April thru November months. The weekends can be rotating (based on staffing / help)

- Days shift (Primary / majority of time).

- Able to work evenings sometimes (Needed basis).

- Able to work weekends.

- Able to work some holidays (Rotation).

- Able to work overtime mostly not required.

- At times the individual would be “on call” as well when there is an issue or emergency situation.

Abilities required:

- Able to lift semi-heavy object 25-75 Lb (pounds).

- Removal of snow (shoveling and salting sidewalk).

- Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours or more while at work.

- Ability to fill out forms, log book and documents related to hotel business.

- Well organized and detailed.

- Ability to use tools pertaining to hotel / building maintenance (Interior and exterior).

The Holiday Inn Express - Woodstock is a drug-free workplace and this position may requires a drug testing.

• Start time between 7am and 8am.
• End time between 3:30pm and 5pm
