Duties/Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and conducting repairs to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and any modifications made to equipment or facilities, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies such as chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures, and take appropriate measures to contain the situation and minimize risks to personnel and the environment.

Inventory Management: Monitor chemical inventories and equipment spare parts, and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supplies are available to support ongoing operations.

Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to operators and other maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, and collaborate with the engineering team to implement changes as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of chemical processing equipment and systems. Familiarity with pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation used in chemical plants is essential.

Deep commitment to safety practices and protocols in handling hazardous chemicals and operating industrial equipment.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with colleagues, vendors, and contractors, and to document maintenance activities accurately.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, and willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive work culture.
Flexibility: Willingness to work non-standard hours, overtime, and respond to emergencies as needed, to ensure the continuous operation of the facility.
Education and Experience:- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in chemical maintenance or a similar role in a chemical manufacturing or processing environment.
- Possess intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Have some knowledge of building, electrical codes and OSHA regulations.
Physical Requirements:- Located in an office with potential time spent in the chemical and shipping warehouse. Must wear designated safety gear and PPE when appropriate.
- Walking between departments, using stairs and climbing ladders.
- Bending, crouching, kneeling and the ability to lift 50 lbs. manually and unassisted.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds; squatting and kneeling.
