Seeking a U.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse for a Maintenance Technician 11 role with a growing a global provider of reusable packaging solutions for the fresh food supply chain industry.
The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facilities' mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies. Develops, maintains, and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies as required. Assists Maintenance Lead in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
Pay Range: $32 to $35
Shift(s) Weekend Shift is scheduled according to the following:
- Sunday, 11:30am to 8pm – may need to flex earlier - for weekly equipment start-up in preparation for 3rd shift’s start at 8pm on Sunday night;
- Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday scheduled 6am-2:30pm;
- Thursday and Friday scheduled “OFF;”
- Saturday scheduled 6am-2:30 pm
- Flexibility for overtime
Second Shift works Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11pm, with overtime/weekend hours as the business requires.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities
- Good teamwork skills along with an ability to collaborate with production and communicate positively.
- Locate, identify, and resolve any safety issues with mechanical or electrical devices.
- Proactively investigate needs, evaluate issues, and present/recommend alternatives to decrease overall facility operational downtime thus increasing operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain purchasing/inventory controls for repair parts and tool inventories.
- Support existing and future projects during installations, start-up, and long-term operation.
- Support daily/weekly asset usage
- Assist in daily/weekly training warehouse personnel.
- Assist with special projects as directed by management.
- Continuously seeking to improve upon existing methods of operation, by research and development.
- Propose, plan, and execute corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities
Requirements
- U.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse strongly encouraged
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Education or certifications in industrial electronics, welding, or wash systems is required
- Industrial maintenance experience required, generally 3+ years of experience in a high-volume production environment
- 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance machine operations, facility maintenance, and maintenance for high-volume conveying systems, etc.
- 3 years of experience in PLC and advanced electrical operational maintenance/repair
- Experience in/around: high-volume conveying operations, water systems, large-volume washers, motors, electrical, and PLC controls
- Experience with completing preventive maintenance tasks, documenting activities utilizing a CMMS software package.
- Troubleshooting experience with conveyor systems, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical (high and low voltage), mechanical
- Able to diagnose issues and execute repair plan with little or no higher-level review
- High level of attention to detail
- Good teamwork skills along with an ability to collaborate with production and communicate positively
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with the following: repair and understanding of heating/ boiler units
- Previous experience with general facility maintenance functions including doors, offices, forklifts, etc
- Food-safe experience is a plus, either from high-volume food production or food packaging or other similarly audited environment
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- Work schedule includes rotating shifts and weekends.
- Working safely and efficiently under difficult circumstances and deadlines to make necessary repairs and keep the lines running
- Work environment is not climate controlled, and some areas are exposed to water from the machinery
- Mechanical work includes climbing into machinery and being exposed to hot, steamy conditions
- Daily work with chemicals
- Daily work includes altitude areas
