The Maintenance Technician - Nights, under the direction of the Production Manager, is responsible for the maintenance of equipment throughout the plant, including production areas, packaging areas, raw receiving areas, wastewater treatment, buildings and structures, warehouses, and company property. This includes but is not limited to performing maintenance tasks assigned by the Production Manager for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, diagnostics, maintenance, repair, removal, and replacement of parts and/or equipment. Must ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to be safe for operation. The Maintenance Mechanic must be fully aware of, trained in, and adhere to all safety programs, policies, and procedures and pass any required position proficiency tests.

Perform all corrective and preventative maintenance on potato dehydrating and packaging equipment by following established Top-Tier guidelines.

Identify machinery or equipment needing repair or replacement; inform management as appropriate.

Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment, including after the repair or replacement of parts.

Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, machinery, or equipment.

Keep accurate, complete, and legible records in English.

Assist production and/or packaging departments with work order requests and routine maintenance as needed.

Keep areas of responsibility clean, free of debris, and well-maintained.

Keep daily records of any and all events that occurred throughout the plant on a daily basis.

Notify the Production Manager of any problems with parts, machinery, and equipment requiring special orders or urgent and safety-threatening situations.

Must be able to complete training certifications in appropriate areas.

Complete other tasks and responsibilities deemed necessary and as assigned by the direct supervisor.

A strong mechanical background is required.

Must be able to follow operational instructions (SOPs) closely.

Ability to read and understand parts manuals, schematics, and tools used for repair and maintenance.

Must be able to certify in required safety areas such as: Lock Out /Tag Out, Confined Space, Fall Protection.

Must be able to operate the equipment - hyster, loader, etc. when licensed.

Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.

Minimum 2 years of related consumer food manufacturing maintenance experience.

Minimum 4 years of experience in general manufacturing maintenance experience.

Industrial maintenance technician experience preferred.

Must be able to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours.

Available for shift work - days, swing, graveyard, and overtime as needed.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis without assistance, and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Ability to tolerate dust or chemicals.
-
Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, climbing, crawling required on a regular basis.

Ability to use and maintain hand and/or power tools and equipment.

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to extreme hot or cold, steam, dust, wet / humid conditions, low lit areas, and loud noises.

The Maintenance Technician’s - Nights work schedule can vary on the time of year and product demand. One can generally expect 40 to 50 hours, over 3-4 days per week.

Hours: 5pm to 5am (12 Hour Shift) 2-2-3.
The Maintenance Technician’s - Nights position pay range is $28.28 to $35 per hour.

About 30 minutes from Adams, Almond, Necedah, Nekoosa, Wautoma, Westfield, or Wild Rose.
