Major Gifts and Community Partnerships Strategist

Overview:
The Major Gifts and Community Partnerships Strategist plays a key role in advancing FiftyForward’s mission by cultivating meaningful relationships that drive philanthropic growth and community engagement. This position focuses on developing and stewarding major donors, expanding individual giving, and building partnerships that strengthen support and bring in revenue for programs serving older adults.
The ideal candidate is a confident and passionate ambassador for FiftyForward’s mission, skilled in relationship management, data-informed fundraising, and community outreach. This position requires a strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and will achieve measurable growth in both donor engagement and revenue.
Essential Functions (Duties/Responsibilities):
- Confidently represent the vision and impact of FiftyForward’s mission and work to donors; exhibit passion and genuine interest in assisting older adults
- Cultivate, steward, and further develop agency’s current major donors to ensure continued giving; develop moves management plan for each
- Develop and manage additional portfolio of new major donors each year (10-15) to ensure growth of individual giving
- Work with leadership to transition development program to the next level of growth, implementing innovative strategies to expand fundraising efforts and reach new milestones
- Meet regularly with directors/leadership and advisory councils for gift referrals
- Maintain proficiency in donor management software and stay knowledgeable about social media platforms, leveraging technology to enhance fundraising efforts and drive revenue
- Oversee management of data entry and thank-you process for each gift and any direct mail, social media, or other solicitations for individual/major donors
- Prepare monthly donor reports for agency, funders, and others analyzing data and identifying new opportunities; Assist with creation of donor lists for appeals, newsletters, events
- Collaborate and engage with development team to integrate individuals in all of agency’s fundraising efforts and events
- Coordinate or develop and host monthly or quarterly opportunities for individuals to engage with agency programs or centers to further donor engagement and enrollment in agency programs
- Engage with individuals across the organization and community (healthcare organizations, spiritual/religious leaders, business executives, etc.) and other stakeholders to increase donors and direct support of centers and supportive care programs
- Support the growth of the agency’s revenue-generating programs (center membership, supportive care) by promoting programs at annual community events, meeting with prospective users/families
- Responsible for achieving quarterly and annual revenue objectives as defined by the agency.
Qualifications Summary
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on individual and major gift cultivation.
- Fundraising Expertise: Demonstrated success in developing and managing donor portfolios, securing major gifts.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using donor management databases (CRM systems).
- Mission Alignment: Genuine interest in and commitment to advancing FiftyForward’s mission of supporting, championing, and enhancing life for older adults.
