The Management Information System (MIS) Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining CUQ’s institutional data and systems infrastructure to enable accurate, secure, and insightful information management across the University.
The role manages the implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of CUQ’s integrated education system (Ellucian) - comprising the CRM, Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), and reporting engine - and ensures seamless integration with Canvas, Blackboard, and Microsoft Dynamics (in coordination with Group IT).
Working collaboratively across functional teams, the job owner will capture and translate user requirements, optimise system configuration, map and manage data flows, and champion effective data governance and compliance to support CUQ’s digital transformation and institutional excellence.
System Implementation & Integration
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of CUQ’s integrated education system (Ellucian)
- Oversee integrations with Canvas, Blackboard, and Microsoft Dynamics (in collaboration with Artan IT)
- Capture and document user requirements across academic and administrative departments
- Configure system modules (CRM, SIS, LMS, reporting engine) to meet user and institutional needs
- Develop and maintain end-to-end data flow maps ensuring interoperability between systems
Reporting & Institutional Intelligence
- Develop and maintain institutional dashboards and reports to support management decision-making, planning, and accreditation
- Design and automate workflows for data collection, reporting, and analysis
- Support evidence-based performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
Training Support and Continuous Improvement
- Provide user training and support for staff across departments on Ellucian and reporting tools
- Develop and maintain user manuals, system guides, and standard operating procedures
- Continuously assess and enhance system functionality to align with evolving user and institutional needs
- Promote a culture of data literacy and digital adoption across CUQ
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data management and educational systems administration
- Proven experience with Ellucian, Blackboard, Canvas, or similar integrated education systems
- Demonstrated experience in system configuration, data mapping, and process automation
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and information security principles
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or other enterprise systems is an advantage
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
