The role of Manager of External and Internal Dosimetry Services within the Radiological Site Services (RSS) organization is crucial in ensuring the effective management and delivery of dosimetry services to both One Hanford contractors and off-site customers. Below are the outlined general expectations and responsibilities associated with this role:
Oversee exempt staff, ensuring effective leadership and team development.
Perform Cost Account Management (CAM) duties, including tracking budget through the cost accounts process by month and year.
Participate in the annual rate-setting process.
Ensure that HMIS contract requirements are met, including the successful completion of assigned performance incentives.
Meet Service Level Agreements and other work agreements with customers on schedule and within budget.
Ensure compliance with the conditions and criteria for DOE Laboratory Accreditation Program (DOELAP) accreditation for both Internal and External Dosimetry programs.
Serve as the Point of Contact with DOELAP administrator and staff.
Provide effective interface management with clients, customers, and staff to ensure requirements are clearly defined and documented.
Adequately plan activities to meet program objectives and milestones.
Maintain ongoing and timely communication.
Ensure strict adherence to quality and quality-affecting data requirements across all programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant ESH&Q requirements through contractor assurance activities such as self-assessments, issue identification and correction, and engagement in institutional safety programs like ISMS, VPP, and EMS.
Formulate policies, manage daily operations, and plan the use of materials and personnel assignments.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with both external and internal customers to meet goals and assess customer satisfaction.
Build and develop strong relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback on issues or concerns.
This role demands a proactive approach to leadership, a keen eye for detail in managing compliance and quality, and strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and satisfaction among stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Health Physics or related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progressive experience with the operation of internal and external dosimetry systems, including knowledge of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards and 10 CFR 835 requirements.
- Prior experience in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership, team building and managerial skills applicable to a diverse workforce.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
Desired Qualifications
- 10 years or more of experience in operations at a managerial level.
- An advanced degree in a relevant field and/or certification as a Certified Health Physicist.
- Must be knowledgeable and well versed in DOELAP process for Internal and External dosimetry.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience with Hanford radiological requirements including dosimetry.
