About the Role:

Join Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE) and lead the future of stargazing experiences at The Red Sea!. This site-based role will be the first point of contact for many guests, creating memorable and high-quality experiences under the stars. The ideal candidate is a “people person” with strong knowledge of the solar system, stars, deep space, constellations, and astronomy’s historical and cultural significance—both locally and globally.


The Astro-Tourism Manager will oversee the operations of astronomy tours, coordinate workshops, train and manage guides, and work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless experiences across our Red Sea destinations.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead clusters in the smooth delivery of astronomy tours and experiences.
  • Collaborate with the reservations team to guide guests in selecting sessions and equipment.
  • Deliver educational and entertaining stargazing programs covering astronomy concepts, cultural interpretations, and historical context.
  • Operate and maintain telescopes, binoculars, and other stargazing equipment.
  • Ensure all observatories and assets are operational and guest-ready.
  • Conduct workshops, presentations, and events for guests and partners.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust programs accordingly.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.


Experience Development & Guest Engagement

  • Develop and enhance astronomy tours, events, and festivals in collaboration with the Astronomy Lead and RSSE Experience Design Manager.
  • Create educational materials and presentations to engage guests of all ages and knowledge levels.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest astronomy discoveries and technologies.
  • Train Akun Guides and other team members to ensure high-quality guest experiences.
  • Represent astronomy initiatives professionally, providing exceptional guest service at all times.


Policies, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Adhere to functional policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of department processes, systems, and guest experiences.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, Astronomy, Physics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the tourism industry; Saudi Arabia experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record in astronomy-related activities or guest satisfaction.
  • Expertise in astronomy optics, tours, events, and festivals.


Essential Skills:

  • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent communicator, storyteller, and public speaker.
  • Passion for customer service and delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Ability to work in multiple luxury resorts and cross-cultural environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.
  • Interest in astronomy science, research, conservation, and education.


Desirable Skills:

  • Additional spoken languages.
  • Background in astronomy business or environmental/social conservation.
  • Health & safety knowledge for tour operations.
  • Experience operating tours in various geographic locations.


Working Conditions:

  • Flexible schedule, including nights, late nights, and travel across Red Sea sites.
  • Hands-on operation of telescopes, binoculars, and other specialized equipment.
  • Ability to design, execute, and deliver high-quality programs exceeding guest expectations.
