About the Role:
As the Business Development Manager – Retail Store Expansion, you will be responsible for driving Traya’s offline retail footprint across India. You will identify high-potential markets, scout and secure retail locations, and support store launch operations end-to-end. This is a key growth role that blends strategy with execution and requires strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Retail Expansion Strategy: Develop and execute a retail expansion roadmap in alignment with brand goals and customer base.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify high-demand locations based on customer demographics, footfall data, and competitor presence.
- Location Scouting: Identify, evaluate, and finalize store locations.
- Lease Negotiation: Negotiate terms with landlords and property agents, manage legal agreements, and ensure cost-effective deals.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with design, operations, and marketing teams to ensure timely and successful store launches.
- Budget: Work with finance to manage budgets per store.
- Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with landlords, and property consultants.
- Compliance & Licensing: Ensure all licenses, permits, and operational compliances are in place before store launch.
Key Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in business development, retail expansion – preferably in D2C, lifestyle or beauty brands.
- Strong understanding of the retail landscape across metros and Tier 1 cities in India.
- Proven experience in identifying store locations and handling end-to-end expansion lifecycle.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
