Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Engineering Manager 3. This position is in based out of Salt Lake City, UT. This position is fully on-site.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Engineering Manager 3 leads a team of engineers in the planning, design, development, and implementation of technical and automated solutions for assigned programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of engineering activities, adherence to company policies and procedures, and alignment with program goals and customer requirements.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional team of Automation/Design Engineers, Machinists and Technicians; providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

  • Oversee the execution of engineering projects as well as ensuring technical excellence, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.

  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Architects to define program requirements, provide direct personnel support, and technical direction.

  • Advocate for, and implement automation engineering practices; ensuring the use of performance metrics and adherence to program conventions.

  • Champion division and sector level efforts to identify and implement automated solutions to modernize production processes.

  • Maintain alignment with enterprise resources such as the Digital Transformation Office and Communities of Practice for best practices and guidance.

  • Conduct regular meetings focused on project requirements, ROI, manpower, and execution excellence.

  • Support program planning, execution, and reporting, including status updates and presentations for upper management and customers.

  • Ensure continuous improvement and integration of engineering practices across the program lifecycle.

The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications for the Engineering Manager 3:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience OR a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of work experience.

  • Experience with problem solving techniques to determine Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Experience in disciplines such as Program Management, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
  • 3 or more years in a technical and management leadership role.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of people and technical leadership in automation development.

  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools.

  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries.

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,800.00 - $220,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
