Position: Manager – Fabric Store
Department: Fabric Store / Garments Division
Location: Leathertex Group, Lahore
Role Summary:
The Manager – Fabric Store will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of all fabrics required for production. This role demands strong technical understanding of fabric types, quality parameters, and handling methods, along with excellent control over store operations and ERP/SAP systems. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring smooth supply of defect-free fabrics to production while maintaining accurate records and efficient inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabric Receiving & Inspection

Supervise fabric receiving against purchase orders and delivery challans.

Ensure fabric inspection as per standard protocols (shrinkage, GSM, shade, defects, width, skew, etc.).

Identify and segregate defective rolls and coordinate with QA & Procurement for claims/adjustments.
2. Fabric Storage & Preservation

Manage systematic storage of fabrics with proper roll shadowing, lot separation, and safe handling practices.

Ensure fabrics are preserved in optimal conditions to avoid damage, shade variation, or contamination.

Maintain traceability of fabric rolls from receipt to issuance.
3. Fabric Issuance & Control

Oversee issuance of fabrics to Cutting & Production strictly as per approved requisitions.

Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) issuance to maintain quality consistency.

Prevent misuse or wastage of fabrics through strict controls and monitoring.
4. System & Documentation (ERP/SAP)

Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP/ERP.

Monitor stock levels and highlight shortages, excess, or discrepancies to Management.

Generate reports on fabric consumption, balance stock, and wastage for Management review.
5. Coordination & Team Management

Coordinate with Procurement, Merchandising, and Planning for fabric availability as per production schedules.

Work closely with QA for bulk inspection and quality approvals.

Lead and train the Fabric Store team to ensure adherence to processes and policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in
Textile Engineering / Textile Technology / Supply Chain
).

Minimum
7–10 years
of experience in Fabric Store / Warehouse operations within the garments or textile industry.

Strong technical knowledge of fabric types, construction, quality parameters, and testing methods.

Hands-on experience with
SAP / ERP systems
for inventory a nd stock management.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

Strong communication and coordination ability with cross-functional teams.
