Role Summary:

The Manager – Gaming Centre leads DMCC’s Gaming ecosystem strategy and operations, owning the Centre’s commercial performance, member experience, and program portfolio. The role is accountable for annual revenue and occupancy targets, programme ROI, member net promoter score (NPS), and overall P&L delivery for the Centre, while strengthening DMCC’s value proposition through new services, strategic partnerships, and flagship initiatives.


The Manager identifies, develops, and manages key partnerships across government, publishers, platforms, technology vendors, investors, and academia, designs and launches products and programmes (e.g., acceleration, academy, tournaments); and steers sales and marketing for the Gaming Centre. The role coordinates cross-functional delivery with Corporate Sales, Business Setup, Legal & Compliance, Property, and Member Success to drive client acquisition and retention.


The Manager provides market and competitor intelligence to inform strategy, pricing, and product roadmap; maintains strong governance and risk management practices; and represents DMCC at high-profile engagements to generate leads and partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Senior Director on defining the Gaming Centre’s strategy and annual operating plan; maintain product & programme roadmap aligned to DMCC strategy.
  • Collaborate with key partners on delivering the center's activation programs (acceleration, incubation, and networking) in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Run day-to-day Centre operations, services, SLAs and member lifecycle (onboarding, engagement, renewal) and monitor the Centre’s performance and ensure that both operational and revenue targets are achieved
  • Take ownership of revenue, occupancy, and programme monetization (leasing, sponsorships, ticketing, education fees). Manage OPEX, pricing and discounting within thresholds.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and develop long-term strategic partnerships with key government stakeholders, businesses and industry bodies relevant to the Gaming ecosystem.
  • Evaluate opportunities (events, projects) in the gaming sector, prepare business cases and negotiating with parties on the finer details of the commercial arrangements.
  • Promote the Centre and generate leads by participating in relevant events as an attendee, exhibitor and/or speaker.
  • Host inbound delegations relevant to the Centre and deliver the Centre’s value proposition, linking it to DMCC’s overall vision and objectives. Identify opportunities for collaboration and lead generation and ensure post meeting follow-up is conducted.
  • Design, launch and scale programmes (acceleration, academy, tournaments) for the DMCC Gaming Centre.
  • Develop value added services catering to the gaming sector, by identifying the right service providers, negotiating the commercials and legal terms, and onboarding them to DMCC.
  • Co-develop integrated campaigns with Marketing; provide input to create content and thought leadership
  • Take ownership of dashboards and reporting for the Centre; perform market/competitor analysis to inform decisions.
  • Build, coach and performance-manage a small team; manage vendors and mentors.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Corporate Sales, Business Setup, Property, Member Success and others and support the teams in client meetings related to gaming and esports.
  • Efficiently working with sales, business setup, operational enablement and member success team members to review future opportunities for business development.
  • Ensure that the marketing plans and content for the Gaming Centre is in line with our vision and objectives.
  • Work closely with market research agencies to develop a clear understanding of the ecosystem’s business, market and potential clients to ensure relevant information is provided.
  • Form relationships, negotiating terms and manage performance for a range of service providers, government departments and other business partners.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree would be preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years' experience in business development, partnerships, or product development in Gaming or a related industry, with 2 years in a people leadership role.
  • Gaming & Esports sector, platform/publisher landscape, strategic analysis, pricing, go-to-market. Computer literacy, with excellent communication & negotiation skills.
  • Market familiarity in the UAE & the wider GCC region.
