Job Purpose:
This position provides leadership, management, and direction to staff and is accountable for the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of assigned compliance functions, programs, processes, and initiatives. This role serves as a point of contact for functional business stakeholders and is responsible for incorporating appropriate business requirements into compliance work and influencing business stakeholders to account for compliance requirements in their functional work. At this level, a manager is expected to lead 1-2 well-defined functional groups, including Advertising Compliance Operations.
Job Responsibilities:

Effectively manage assigned compliance functions, programs, processes, and initiatives. Ensure the team’s work complies with applicable internal and external deadlines and service level agreements.

Serve as the front-line manager for assigned employees, exercising managerial authority to train, assign and direct work, coach and develop employees, and make impactful recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, development opportunities, compensation, and discipline.

Establish and manage employees’ individual and team performance goals on a regular basis, and provide frequent, individualized performance feedback.

Establish and maintain effective knowledge management and documentation of functions, programs, processes, and initiatives to ensure smooth transitions when there is staff turnover.

Understand TruStage’s enterprise business model and associated legal and compliance risks.

Regularly communicate and develop effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders to maintain a deep understanding of applicable compliance risks and TruStage’s approach to addressing them. Continuously assess new and existing compliance risks and response options and recommend improvements.

Independently and in collaboration with others, design and document appropriate processes to mitigate compliance risk, along with plans for implementation, quality assurance, measurement and reporting, and continuous improvement.

Regularly review industry publications and establish industry relationships to identify best practices and approaches to common compliance issues.

Measure and report company performance in assigned compliance areas, identify themes and opportunities for improvement based on the data, and create actionable recommendations consistent with TruStage’s strategy for responding to identified compliance risks.

Follow established quality assurance and audit practices to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance processes at reducing enterprise compliance risks.

Use Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and other technology applications and systems related to assigned processes.

Research and stay abreast of developing technology solutions in assigned subject matter areas to identify opportunities for process-improvements and automation.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent trade-off of related professional work experience; degree in Insurance-related or Business-related field(s) is preferred.

5 or more years’ relevant experience; this is an entry-level management role and does not require prior managerial experience.

Ability to understand TruStage’s enterprise business model and associated legal requirements and compliance risks.

Ability to understand how compliance processes mitigate legal, compliance and business risks and apply that understanding to the daily work of individuals and teams.

Ability to adapt in a changing work environment and assist others in understanding how and why changes impact compliance processes.

Ability to work in a team environment as a team leader, coach, and subject matter expert.

Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives, projects, and day-to-day work to accomplish business goals.

Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to deliver in-person and virtual subject-matter training and updates to stakeholders and company leaders.

Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and ability to learn to use technology applications and systems related to assigned processes.

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Base Salary Range:
$91,300.00 - $136,900.00
