Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager – Automation to lead the design, execution, and delivery of industrial automation projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in automation systems along with leadership capabilities to manage engineering teams, oversee project execution, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid techno-commercial understanding of automation solutions within electrical contracting and EPC environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end automation projects including design, engineering, programming, commissioning, and handover
- Manage automation engineering teams and ensure high-quality deliverables within timelines and budgets
- Develop and implement automation strategies aligned with client requirements and industry standards
- Oversee design and development of PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for industrial applications
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and project teams for integrated solution delivery
- Review and approve technical documents such as control philosophies, I/O lists, logic diagrams, and HMI designs
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during project execution and commissioning
- Engage with clients for requirement gathering, solution presentation, and technical discussions
- Support sales and business development teams with techno-commercial inputs, proposals, and estimations
- Evaluate new technologies and drive innovation in automation solutions
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor project progress, resource allocation, and cost control
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field
- 8–12 years of experience in industrial automation, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, ABB, etc.)
- Proven experience in automation project management within industrial or process sectors
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks
- Experience in system integration and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Strong techno-commercial skills including cost estimation, proposal review, and client engagement
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
