Job Title: Manager, Logistics - (West)

Department/Function:
Purpose of the Job: Responsible to oversee the end-to-end distribution of finished goods at the zonal level, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining optimal service levels and controlling transportation costs within the approved SBU budget. Minimize stock-outs and sales losses by ensuring smooth operations at Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs) and Just-in-Time (JIT) facilities in alignment with business requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Material Availability & Service Performance
- Ensure minimal stock-outs at Area Office (AO) level through high dispatch adherence.
- Drive demand forecasting governance in collaboration with regional and zonal teams to enable accurate and effective deployment planning.
- Ensure comprehensive range availability at Area Offices (AOs) to support uninterrupted sales and service delivery.
- Cost Management:
- Manage transportation and warehousing costs within the approved budget.
- Monitor and control freight, storage, and handling expenses.
Warehouse & Capacity Planning- Responsible for overseeing the operations of all the west region warehouses such as Nagpur, Nasik, Jaipur and Udaipur.
- Ensure robust inventory control and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy to support efficient operations and minimize discrepancies.
- Upstream movement of non-moving or non-standard SKUs to optimize inventory and reduce blockage at distribution points.
- Drive initiatives for upstreaming and inventory reduction, especially slow moving and non-moving SKUs.
- Vendor & 3PL Partner Management for RDCs & JIT’s:
- Implement initiatives to enhance operational productivity, streamline logistics processes, and improve resource utilization across the supply chain.
- Monitor and minimize detention charges by ensuring timely loading/unloading and improving coordination with logistics partners.
- Team Management
- Ensure continuous training and development of the team to build and maintain the right skill sets for operational excellence.
- Promote workforce diversity by fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring fair representation across roles and functions.
- Rolling out New Projects
- Drive end-to-end implementation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) to enhance inventory visibility, process efficiency, and operational control.
- Lead ATQM and Kaizen initiatives at Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) to drive continuous improvement, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure thorough documentation of all critical logistics processes.
- Implement vertical space utilization strategies in existing warehouses to maximize storage capacity and improve operational efficiency.
- Renewal of Lease and Service Contracts
- Provide quarterly status updates on lease and service contracts to ensure compliance, timely renewals, and risk mitigation.
- Knowledge (Technical / Functional)
- Knowledge of SAP is essential Vendor Management
- Knowledge of tools in demand planning, supply planning.
- Exposure to warehousing processes and operations
- Exposure to manufacturing Environment is also desirable
