Job Purpose
To oversee, analyse, and optimise the cost structures of Port Qasim and Nooriabad ensuring that all plant related projects/expenses are executed within the defined budgets and in accordance with NFL’s policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities

Direct the Cost Accountants to provide accurate expense figures, ensuring costs are accurately accounted for and communicated to department heads

Oversee daily stock movements (purchases, receivables, issuing, transfers) and supervise regular stock takes to ensure accurate documentation

Analyse finance generated OpEx reports and computed production costs to identify any irregular expenditures related to the plant

Develop the plant’s annual budgets in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, track and monitor expenditure against the approved budgets and report any discrepancies to the Head of Supply Chain Planning & Control

Guide the weekly analysis of procurement and supply chain costs which includes breakdown the different data points such as vendor prices and customs duties, to identify where costs have changed

Oversee and validate plant invoice processing, ensuring alignment with purchase agreements

Work closely with the Procurement team to understand details such as specific terms or discounts negotiated which should be reflected in the invoices

Develop a clear procedure for handling invoice discrepancies which will involve discussion with vendors, revisit contract terms and establish a feedback loop to maintain open communication channels

Foster collaborations with external interfaces to enhance purchasing strategies, emphasising the establishment of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ)

Oversee the implementation of cost control systems, periodically review the outputs to ensure accuracy and engage in manual audits during the early stages of implementation

Oversee plant ad-hoc procurement requests by conducting vendor cost analysis and highlighting key points for negotiation

Assure strict internal security protocols, address and escalating any concerns or potential threats ,and steps to take if a vulnerability is identified

Stay abreast of the latest supply chain, cost controlling, and theories to ensure NFL remains fully compliant and is in line with best practices
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 10-12 years of experience
Or
-
Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 8-10 years of experience
