Your Role

You will enhance Internal Audit processes, implement changes, and foster continuous improvement in employee processes and technology within the Internal Audit department. You will ensure quality assurance on the work conducted by internal audit in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS). You will promote the application of Agile Audit Methodology in managing the Audit Management software and oversee the internal audit competencies framework. You will support the SVP Internal Audit in the preparation of Internal Audit, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (BARC), and Executive Management.

Strategic

  • Develop capabilities, tools and techniques to implement changes and foster continuous improvement under people processes and technology.
  • Guarantee compliance to Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) by standardizing and overseeing review of Internal audit processes and workpapers.
  • Benchmark Internal Audit practices with relevant industry and organization to drive continuous improvement.

Operational

  • Develop and implement the audit manual to ensure compliance with GIAS and maintain consistency.
  • Manage quality review of the audit function and external quality assessment.
  • Manage the quality team to identify, research, and assess internal audit performance trends, providing recommendations to enhance strategies, work practices, and internal audit manuals.
  • Plan, organise and deploy Quality Team resources to address improvement and gaps.
  • Establish and present the improvements and quality trends in a clear and concise manner.
  • Lead the Quality and continuous improvement team to deliver the improvements required
  • Prepare the Internal Audit Annual Internal Quality assessment.
  • Manage the periodic External Quality Assessment in line with the GIAS Standards.
  • Manage the Quality Review Conducted by SAB (State Audit Bureau)
  • Develop the competency framework and conduct employee assessment against the framework in coordination with Internal Audit Managers.
  • Manage the Audit Management software, including interfacing with suppliers or vendors.

  • Provide functional expertise in subject matter areas, statistical analysis & monitoring

  • Manage continuous improvement to achieve Internal Audit's objectives and maintain standards

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience OR High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 9 years of job-related experience
  • CA, ACCA, CIA or CPA qualified.
  • Excellent post qualification experience in internal audit or public accounting.
  • Experience managing teams and complex projects.
  • Appreciation of the dynamics of aviation and related business environment. Preferred
  • Internal & External Quality assessment under the GIAS
  • Knowledge of Audit Management Software

Consulting experience.

  • Certification in risk management or internal controls.
  • CISA or CFE certification.
