Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with the Shared Services team and fund accounting team to communicate fund data across the organization and serve as a central point of contact to address related questions and requests from internal and external stakeholders.- Aggregate, provide and analyze fund level data. This includes providing data and reviewing deliverables to corporate accounting, corporate finance, other Oaktree departments, and Oaktree’s parent company. Ensure the data provided is accurate and sent timely.
- Serve as a key contact for the Internal Controls Group to provide support for their fund SOX/SOC-1 control testing and scoping. This includes organizing walkthrough support and responses, providing valid population, coordinating with fund accounting to provide testing supports timely.
- Serve as key contact for the Compliance team to assist with data collection and validation from fund accounting team. Prepare and review deliverables prepared by analyst or fund accounting team for Compliance reporting purpose.
- Lead and oversee the auditor independence process, which includes reaching out to deal team or portfolio companies, collecting relevant supports, documenting the quarterly inquiries, preparing ad-hoc analysis, enhancing the processes, and communicating effectively to deal team, auditors, fund accountants and other internal/external stakeholders..
- Assist with projects related to process improvement and help implement best practices across the Fund Accounting teams.
Qualifications
Minimum 8-10 years relevant accounting or audit experience, preferably in public accounting with at least 2 years of experience in fund accounting or the investment management industry- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of private investment funds
- Experience with SOX and/or SOC-1 compliance audits preferred
- Strong judgment and analytical skills – proven ability to communicate proactively, analyze and escalate issues as needed and reach well-considered conclusions under tight time constraints
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Bachelor’s degree required.
