What You Will Do:

Support the goals of the Unit of Production (UP) pertaining to all aspects of manufacturing operation and packaging optimization. Assist the UP in capital projects, equipment specification and manufacturing readiness. Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing operations using TPM performance improvement tools (e.g. Cronos, Optiline, CLE and the PDCA process). Act as a liaison for corporate TPD and plant personnel with packaging issues.


  • Independently investigate opportunities to improve the safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity of the UP. Implements L’Oréal corporate Industrial Projects (KANBAN, SMED, TPM, etc.).
  • Manage and direct engineering projects ensuring timely execution and budget control. Supervise the activities of sub-contractors, suppliers and service personnel.
  • Support and lead product validation activities. This includes installation, operational, and process validation.
  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to UP technical and production personnel as needed (coverage, digital champion, develop and deliver training as needed etc)
  • Actively participate and/or lead performance optimization projects (BEC, CLE. Line PDCA workshops etc) together with Packaging Operators, and mechanics.
  • Participates in conception risk analysis (Pre QCP), leads production risk analysis, ensures mitigations are in place for high-risk exposures.
  • Liaise with Packaging and Development Team for optimization of existing components and formats to improve quality, reduce cost (Value Analysis) and/or drive efficiency and modularity.
  • Initiate and organize all line trials. Coordinate receipt of new components with Packaging Team. Summarize line trial results with action plan.
  • Work with production and quality to establish defect range boards for finished goods. Documentation of defects for marketing approval.
  • Define and approve incoming packaging specifications for components considering technical and ergonomic considerations to support safe handling for interaction with production personnel and equipment. Communicate with Packaging Team and Supplier to ensure guidelines are followed for Franklin housekeeping/5S standards and waste reduction target obtained.
  • Define and specify all tertiary packaging (packaging of outgoing finished goods): cartons, dividers, cases, case label, bundle wrap. Ensure all tertiary packaging have standardization as much as possible to drive efficiencies and cost down.
  • Define optimum palletization plans, ensure Supply Chain constraints are taken into consideration; ensure 100% accuracy between data entry and physical measurements.
  • Review finished goods specifications and work instructions with production. Ensure standardization of “Good practices” across production areas.


What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Past project engineering experience is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Must wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Visual/auditory acuity required to operate equipment and see/hear warning alarms.
  • Computer skills, to include experience with spreadsheets, pivot tables, Power BI presentations, graphics software and database management.
  • Experience with SAP a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree in Industrial Engineering or other Business related discipline preferred

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:

Salary Range: $90,200 - $128,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
