Position Summary

QMed Corporation is seeking a Manager, Warehouse Technology & Innovation with a strong, hands-on background in warehouse systems and operational technology. This role will lead the transition of our current Warehouse Management System (WMS) to a modern, scalable platform that supports operational growth, efficiency, and accuracy.

The Manager will own the full lifecycle of the WMS upgrade, serving as internal subject matter expert and project leader. Responsibilities include establishing governance, building and executing the conversion strategy, managing stakeholders, leading change management, and directing the WMS implementation team. The role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution to ensure a smooth transition with minimal operational disruption.

Post-implementation, this individual will drive continuous improvement by maximizing system capabilities to improve inventory control, order fulfillment, labor efficiency, space utilization, reporting visibility, workflow automation, and standard operating procedures.

QMed currently utilizes High-Jump Warehouse Edge integrated with an in-house ERP system built on the 4D platform. The Manager will oversee budget, timeline, and vendor coordination while communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from warehouse personnel to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience leading full-cycle WMS implementations within small- to mid-sized distribution environments, along with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a practical understanding of warehouse operations and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation, business case development, and implementation of technologies that improve throughput, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IS, IT, and Operations to assess, select, and deploy system enhancements.
  • Build and lead a cross-functional WMS implementation team to execute the conversion plan.
  • Establish project governance, milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and configuration standards.
  • Design and coordinate end-user training programs.
  • Communicate project status, risk mitigation plans, and impact updates to leadership.
  • Track project costs and realized benefits against approved business case assumptions.
  • Oversee development and enforcement of warehouse SOPs aligned with system capabilities.
  • Provide regular executive-level reporting on project progress and operational impact.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidate should possess 8+ years of professional experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity, including planning, organization, communication, and team development (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills

  • Demonstrated success leading WMS upgrades, migrations, or implementations in small- to mid-scale warehouse environments.
  • Experience executing operational or IT initiatives that drive measurable process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of distribution center operations (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, transportation, and inventory control).
  • Working knowledge of system configuration and its impact on warehouse workflows.
  • Ability to drive process improvement across operational, regulatory, cost, and quality/safety dimensions.
  • Skilled facilitator able to gather requirements and align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • High ownership mindset with strong problem-solving ability and resilience under pressure.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.

Pay: From $112,500.00 per year
