Role Summary

We’re seeking a fluent Mandarin–English professional who can interpret live (both directions), draft clear business emails, and support commercial meetings and documents. You’ll bridge language and culture between Chinese and English–speaking stakeholders and keep actions moving.

What You’ll Do

  • Live interpreting (CN⇄EN): consecutive/sight translation in internal and client meetings, calls, and site visits.
  • Business writing: draft, translate, and proof emails, letters, memos, and meeting invitations with a professional tone.
  • Documents & slides: translate proposals, NDAs, MOUs, contracts/excerpts, product sheets.
  • Meetings: schedule, attend, take minutes/action items, and follow up until closure.
  • Stakeholder liaison: maintain day-to-day communications with Chinese suppliers/partners and English-speaking teams.
  • Cultural guidance: advise on etiquette, phrasing, and negotiation style to avoid miscommunication.

What You Bring

  • Native/near-native Mandarin and excellent English (spoken & written); crisp, client-ready business writing.
  • Interpreting skills: strong consecutive interpreting; sight translation; note-taking under time pressure.
  • Commercial awareness: basic understanding of quotes, POs, Incoterms, payment terms, and vendor management.
  • Tools: MS Office/Google Workspace; fast typing; familiarity with WhatsApp/WeChat for business.
  • Soft skills: organised, discreet, resilient under pressure; proactive follow-through and problem solving.
  • Experience: 2–5+ years in a client-facing or commercial coordinator/translator role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in real estate, construction, industrial, or investment environments.
  • Knowledge of contract basics (NDA/MOU/LOI), Excel for simple trackers.
  • Familiarity with basic finance terms (invoice, credit note, WHT/VAT).
  • Ability to travel.
