Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality systems: Create and enforce quality standards, protocols, and control systems.
- Monitor and inspect: Perform regular inspections and audits of materials, equipment, processes, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Analyze and troubleshoot: Analyze data to identify quality issues and defects in processes or products, and perform root cause analysis to find solutions.
- Implement corrective actions: Develop and implement corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans to resolve identified problems.
- Ensure compliance: Stay updated on and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and industry standards, such as ISO 9001 or FDA regulations.
- Collaborate and communicate: Work with other departments, suppliers, and stakeholders to improve product quality and address concerns.
- Document and report: Prepare reports on quality performance, issues, and improvements for relevant departments.
Required skills and qualifications
- Technical skills: Proficiency in quality control systems, problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D), and statistical process control.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, conduct root cause analysis, and identify trends.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
- Software/Tools: Experience with specific tools may vary, but often includes statistical software and quality management systems like MasterControl.
- Experience: Previous experience in a quality engineering role is typically necessary, with industry-specific experience (like fabrication)
