Description

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management

  • Lead daily production execution to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of workforce and equipment across shifts.
  • Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and quality to avoid production interruptions.

Process & Equipment Oversight

  • Manage performance of key equipment: Cam Milling, Grinding, Hobbing, Superfinishing, Induction Hardening, Washing, Laser Marking, Final Inspection, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to preventive and breakdown maintenance plans for uptime and process stability.

Automation & Technology

  • Promote Industry 4.0 tools to stabilize and enhance manufacturing performance.

Quality & Compliance

  • Own quality metrics and drive resolution for non-conformances.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure adherence to HSE, regulatory, and internal audit requirements.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of operators, line engineers, and production supervisors.
  • Conduct skill-gap analysis, training, and succession planning.
  • Build a culture of discipline, teamwork, and ownership on the shopfloor.

Continuous Improvement

  • Deploy Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and SMED.
  • Improve OEE, reduce rework/scrap, and optimize manpower and energy usage.
  • Track KPIs and lead improvement initiatives aligned with plant goals.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Additional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Manufacturing Excellence preferred. Experience: Minimum 10 years in manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in precision machining, automated manufacturing, and production planning.
  • Hands-on exposure to camshaft or similar complex components is a strong advantage.

The Manager – Camshaft Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for leading and managing end-to-end camshaft machining operations. The scope includes overseeing production lines equipped with automated/manual precision machining centers. The role demands strong expertise in quality, process, automation, people management, and continuous improvement in a high-mix, high-precision environment.
