We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate - Manufacturing Superintendent

This role, you will be involved in ensuring coordination of department efforts to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency in meeting production volume and quality standards. Night shift reports to Manufacturing Director.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Night shift, directly manages and supervises assigned Production Supervisors for Assembly, Blow Mold and Injection Mold areas, including but not limited to their annual performance reviews, monitoring of goals, developmental plans and setting competencies in company performance management system.
  • Perform duties in absence of the manager.
  • Accounts for efficiency and productivity levels to meet company objectives.
  • Develops workforce requirements necessary to complete the production schedule.
  • Works in concert with Human Resources to develop and enforce methods, policies and procedures for manufacturing labor resources.
  • Coordinates and communicates production priorities and employee availability plans with other Manufacturing Managers and appropriate departments.
  • Define and drive standardized operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the department.
  • Works with supervisors and HR/Safety/Quality in the preparation of instructions and training of associates on safety, skills and quality.
  • Works with Maintenance Department to coordinate repair and maintenance in accordance with production requirements.
  • Supervise and works with Material and Process department in the optimum utilization of raw materials.
  • Works with New product development in the success of new products that are going to be processed in the plant.
  • Supports productivity projects.
  • Implement, maintain and enforce 5S discipline throughout the Production departments.
  • Initiates, implements, and encourages the use of lean manufacturing tools in areas supervised.
  • Ensures satisfactory quality and quantity of work for assigned departments.
  • Communicates effectively with subordinates, peers and senior management.
  • Ensures fair and equitable treatment of all associates under his/her supervision.
  • Ensures that all associates comply with policies and regulations according to safety, OSHA and any applicable Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical or administrative field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of production experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory or technical lead experience.
  • Experience in molding or plastics manufacturing processes and general assembly processes.
  • Technical experience operating molding equipment such as IMPCO B-30, Sterling, Graham, Hartig, Cincinnati, Beckum, Van Dorn, Engel, Krauss Maffei, or Toyo machines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions and ensure safety.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to work extended hours or rotating shifts as business needs require.
Physical Demands & Conditions
(Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)
Standing & Walking
Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.
Postural Requirements
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.
Lifting & Material Handling
  • Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
  • Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.

Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use
Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.

Visual Requirements
Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.

Environmental Conditions

  • Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
  • High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.

Additional Job Considerations
These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
